Auditions for a New Musical
March 8, 2010

AUDITION DATE (BY APPT): Monday and Tuesday April 19 & 20 (6:30 to 9:45 pm) CALLBACK DATE: Call Backs Sunday April 25 (11:00 am to 2:00 pm) AUDITION LOCATION: 'Glitter & Razz Playspace' Oakland, CA 5951 College Ave. close to Rockridge BART station EMAIL: e-mail cossa@attglobal.net ABOUT THE SHOW: One thing that makes SEX TAPES FOR SENIORS unique is that all of the characters, save one, are over the age of 60. The show is vocally challenging, musically complex, and exciting. Also, despite the title, the show is not just about sex. It is about relationships, how our personal and social roles change as we get older, and finding passion and excitement in life at a time when we are often face to face with our own and our loved-ones’ mortality. However, sex, sexuality, sexual issues, and sexual orientation diversity are all part of the show. There is no nudity or depiction of sexual acts. There is frank discussion about sexual topics as well as lines and lyrics that are on the edge of being graphic – but not pornographic. Character descriptions and synopsis given below. If you would like to have a copy of the script e-mailed to you, please contact Mario at cossa@attglobal.net and put “script request” in the subject line. AUDITION INFORMATION: Come prepared with a 32 bar (about one minute) prepared vocal solo (bring your music in your key – pianist will be on hand) and a monologue of about one minute’s duration. Audition forms and appointment requests are available further down on this page. REHEARSALS: Oakland at 'Glitter & Razz' and will begin lightly in May and become heavier starting in mid June. Please note any conflicts of days of the weeks or dates for which you would be not available on the audition form. There will be a first read through of the show the last week in April. There will be a photo shoot for principal characters on Sunday afternoon, May 2. PERFORMANCE LOCATON: Victoria Theatre 16th and Mission in SF: PERFORMANCE DATES: Preview: Thursday evening, August 5 Evening Performances: Fri. & Sat., August 6 & 7, 13 & 14, 20 & 21.
